Why do we require users to log in for views?

Postby sac0o01 » Wed Mar 27, 2013 9:35 pm

In the past Rotasig was unlimited for all users. What I found was users would abandon their rotation but since it was already linked across the web, Rotasig was still serving up images.

Logging in allows Rotasig to use the abandoned, depleted views for advertisement and bypass the random image scripting. This allows more of the server resources to serve up rotations for the active users and not be wasted on abandoned accounts.

Additionally greater logins create additional page views which is what drives advertising and ultimately pays the bills here.

If you find yourself needing to log in daily because you are using 1000 views a day you really may want to consider a yearly subscription. At $1 a month (annual subscription) managing your account is a lot easier plus it helps to keep Rotasig online
